**mymem lite** is a Chrome extension that adds a user-controlled “memory layer” to ChatGPT. (Support for Gemini and Claude is planned.) ### What you can do with the LITE version mymem lite is a tool that helps you **organize AI conversations on the spot and reuse them later more easily**. - In ChatGPT responses, you can **right-click words you don’t understand to look them up, register them, and reference them later** - You can send ChatGPT conversation history to a side panel and **preview, edit, and copy it in Markdown format** - **Mermaid syntax inside Markdown is rendered as diagrams** (Flowcharts and sequence diagrams can be checked visually) “When the ChatGPT screen alone makes it hard to organize your thoughts,” mymem lite helps fill that gap. ### Customize ChatGPT’s personality With mymem lite, you can **save up to five ChatGPT personality settings (personas)**. - Change tone and speaking style - Switch between logical, gentle, or strict modes - Think with a different “personality” depending on your task You can register your preferred personalities and switch between them at any time. There is no need to explain the same preferences repeatedly. You can continue conversations with a shared understanding of “how this AI should behave.” ### About the PRO version (planned for next spring) The upcoming PRO version will provide features to **save, search, and reuse AI conversations**. - Accumulate past conversations and ideas - Quickly search and reuse what you need - Continue thinking using previous context and personality settings The goal is to use AI not as a “one-time conversation partner,” but as **a companion that shares ways of thinking and personality**. ### How it works mymem lite runs only when you take action. When you save or reference content via right-click (or key-combination clicks), it processes the conversation content currently visible on the screen. It does not run automatically in the background and does not constantly monitor conversations. ### Data & privacy - No logic or behavior that automatically delegates value judgments to AI is adopted - AI may suggest priorities, but final decisions are always made by humans - Data is processed only when the user performs an action - API requests use the user’s own API key - Conversation content is not sent automatically - Feedback is sent only when the user chooses to do so - Character traits, autonomous behavior, and proactive suggestions are used only to increase questions and perspectives - AI is positioned not as a decision-maker, but as a dialogue partner with different viewpoints ### Future vision and landmark **Another version of yourself that doesn’t forget.** mymem values managing memories and personalities **on your own terms**, rather than leaving them to AI providers.
