Overview
Blocks image loading to save mobile data
MVweb Image Blocker stops images from loading so you spend less mobile data. When you turn it on, the browser does not download pictures on the pages you visit — the requests are blocked before they leave your device, so the traffic is genuinely saved rather than just hidden after the fact. HOW IT WORKS Click the toolbar icon and flip the switch. Blocking applies to every site until you turn it back off. Reload the current page to see the effect. There is nothing else to configure. WHY IT SAVES DATA Images are usually the heaviest part of a web page. By preventing them from being requested at all, the extension cuts the largest share of page weight. This is done at the network level, not by hiding pictures that have already been downloaded. PRIVACY The extension has no accounts, no telemetry, and no servers. It makes no network requests of its own — its entire job is to prevent requests. The only thing it stores is whether blocking is currently on or off, kept locally on your device. Blocking stays off until you switch it on. PERMISSIONS The extension uses the minimum it needs: storage to remember the on/off state, and the declarative blocking API to stop image requests. Site access is required only so the blocking rule can apply on any page — the extension never reads page content. LANGUAGES English and Russian. WORKS ON Chromium 109 or later.
