# Muslim Companion Muslim Companion is a private, modern Islamic daily companion that brings prayer times, Qur’an reading, Tafsir, Adhan reminders, Qibla direction, Dhikr, and personal worship goals together in one beautifully designed Chrome extension. Built for everyday use, Muslim Companion helps you stay connected to your prayers and Qur’an without distracting you from your browser experience. ## Accurate Prayer Times View daily prayer times based on your selected city, timezone, calculation method, and Asr preference. The dashboard includes: • Fajr • Sunrise • Dhuhr • Asr • Maghrib • Isha See your current prayer, next prayer, and a live countdown until the next prayer. Muslim Companion also supports local prayer-time adjustments when your mosque or local authority uses slightly different times. ## Adhan & Prayer Reminders Receive configurable browser notifications for prayer times. You can choose: • Prayer-time notifications • Reminders before prayer • Optional reminders after prayer • Different Adhan sounds for individual prayers • Silent mode • Audio volume When Adhan is playing, a red **Stop Adhan** button appears directly in the popup. You can also stop the Adhan from the browser notification. ## Qur’an Reader Open the built-in Qur’an reader directly from Muslim Companion. The reader includes: • Complete Qur’an navigation • Surah index • 30 Juz navigation • 604-page navigation • Arabic Qur’an text • Translation support • Tafsir • Qur’an search • Ayah bookmarks • Bookmark notes • Last-read position • Recitation audio • Continuous recitation • Ayah repetition for memorization • Auto-scroll during recitation Previous and Next navigation is available at both the top and bottom of the reader for comfortable long reading sessions. ## Qur’an Index Open the Qur’an Index at any time and quickly navigate by: • Surah • Juz • Page Search for a Surah by name or number and continue reading instantly. ## Tafsir Open Tafsir directly beside the Qur’an reader to study the explanation of the verses you are reading. Available Tafsir editions are loaded dynamically when supported by the Qur’an data provider. ## Reading Personalization Customize the Qur’an reader for your preferred reading experience. Adjust: • Qur’an font • Arabic text size • Line spacing • Translation visibility • Reading theme • Focus mode Available reading surfaces include Classic Ivory, Soft Sage, Warm Paper, and Night Reading. Muslim Companion remembers your reading preferences. ## Qur’an Reading Goals Create personal Qur’an goals such as: • Pages per day • Juz per day • Complete the Qur’an by a selected date Track daily progress, reading streaks, active reading days, pages read, and recent reading activity. Your progress is stored locally in your browser. ## Dhikr Counter Use the built-in Dhikr counter for daily remembrance. Choose common Adhkar, track your count, create a daily target, and follow your streak. Optional reminders can notify you when your daily Dhikr goal has not yet been completed. ## Prayer Tracker Privately mark completed daily prayers and view your progress toward completing all five prayers. Prayer completion history remains stored locally. ## Qibla Direction View the Qibla bearing calculated from your selected city. This helps the extension remain useful when your internet connection is unavailable or temporarily interrupted. ## Backup & Restore Export your personal Muslim Companion settings and progress as a local backup. Backups can include: • Settings • Qur’an bookmarks • Reading progress • Prayer tracking • Dhikr history • Personal preferences ## Privacy First Muslim Companion is designed to respect your privacy. The extension does not: • Read the websites you visit • Track your browsing history • Inject scripts into webpages • Sell personal information • Use advertising trackers Your worship progress, bookmarks, preferences, Dhikr counts, and related personal activity are stored locally in your browser. External services are contacted only when necessary to retrieve prayer, location, Qur’an, Tafsir, or recitation data. ## Minimal Browser Permissions Muslim Companion requests only the permissions required for its core functionality: **Storage** Used to save settings, cached prayer times, bookmarks, reading goals, and local preferences. **Alarms** Used to schedule prayer reminders and daily notifications. **Notifications** Used to display prayer, Qur’an, and Dhikr reminders. **Offscreen** Used to safely play Adhan audio within the Chrome Manifest V3 architecture.
