Prepare vocals locally on Apple Silicon and play them with your YouTube video.

MusicMute Local prepares and plays voice-only audio alongside a supported YouTube watch video. Use the waveform control in the player to start. The video pauses during preparation, then vocals follow pause, seek, speed and volume. Switch to original sound, mute vocals or stop at any time. Requires an Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 14 or later, Chrome 116 or later and the separate MusicMute Mac companion. Download and preparation instructions are on the homepage below. The extension alone cannot process audio. Windows, Intel Macs, live streams, Shorts and alternate or described audio-track matching are not supported. Videos must be no longer than 20 minutes. Automatic local preparation is enabled by default for eligible playing videos. You can turn it off or choose a shorter duration limit. Automatic preparation never submits new cloud processing. Local playback does not require a MusicMute account. Audio acquisition needs internet access. Vocal separation runs on your Mac. The downloader uses logged-out guest access and does not import Chrome cookies or bypass login requirements. YouTube may refuse a request. Use only content you own or are authorized to process. Local processing includes shared MusicMute service use. The Mac app can look up and reuse shared originals and vocals. Newly prepared YouTube originals, vocals and video metadata may be saved in the background for reuse by other MusicMute users, even while signed out, after vocals start playing. Accepted shared results have no automatic expiry and remain after local cache clearing or account deletion. Signing out does not disable shared saving. Optional MusicMute cloud processing follows the choice saved in the Mac app. A manual start sends the canonical YouTube URL through the signed-in account and uses its allowance. The app downloads the resulting vocals for playback. Account credentials remain in the Mac app. Diagnostics stay local unless you export and choose to share them. Supports English and Arabic.
