It puts four powerful tools right in your browser so you never miss a deal on surplus vehicles, heavy equipment, boats, aircraft, IT equipment, kitchen equipment, electronics, and more from 7,000+ state and local government agencies, authorities, schools and universities across the US and Canada. Auction Alerts: Set alerts on any Municibid listing with one click — use the gold "Set Alert" button right on the listing page, or right-click anywhere on it. You'll get desktop notifications at 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 5 minutes before an auction closes (fully customizable), complete with the listing photo, current bid, and time remaining. Click a notification and you're right back on the listing, ready to bid. The Assistant keeps watching after you set an alert, too. If the bid jumps on an auction you're tracking, you'll know. And if a last-minute bid extends the auction, your reminders move automatically — no missed endings. Ended alerts tidy themselves up after a week (you choose how long). All times shown are US Eastern, just like Municibid. Nearby Auctions: Enter your ZIP code or use your current location to discover auctions near you. Browse results on an interactive map with photo previews, or scroll through listing cards sorted your way — nearest, ending soonest, or lowest bid. The extension even adds distance badges directly onto Municibid pages so you always know how far away an item is while you browse. Deal Insights: Here's the part folks love: every nearby listing is checked against two years of completed Municibid auctions. You'll see what similar items have actually sold for, and when the current bid sits at half the typical sale price or less, a gold DEAL badge flags it. No guesswork — just real numbers from real auctions. Category Scouts (Saved Searches): Create up to 10 "Scouts" that automatically watch for new listings matching your keywords, category, price range, and location. Pick from Municibid's real category list — Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Farm Equipment & Supplies, Police & Fire, and 40+ more. Scouts check for new matches every hour throughout the day and send you a notification when something pops up. Want an answer right now? Hit "Check Now." Right-click any search or category page on Municibid to save it as a Scout instantly, and jump from any Scout straight back to its live search on Municibid. To find auctions near you and check for Scout matches, the extension sends anonymous queries (your search criteria and general location) to Municibid's own auction-data service — nothing is tied to your identity, stored about you, or shared with anyone else.
