Multicast Gateway (BEACON)

Connect Blockcast web apps to native and tunneled multicast through the BEACON Multicast Gateway IWA.

Multicast Gateway (BEACON) connects compatible Blockcast web applications to one local Isolated Web App (IWA) gateway. It bridges page requests made through window.multicast to native multicast, AMT, MoQ, WebTransport, or WebSocket paths supported by your deployment. The extension provides the browser-side bridge and keeps the singleton IWA available while an authorized page is using it. The setup assistant opens the Chromium controls needed to install the signed IWA from Blockcast's public update manifest, checks the installed IWA version, and helps you update it through Web App Internals. Use it when a Blockcast web application needs live multicast delivery, local gateway discovery, or an authorized tunneled relay. The extension does not provide content, accounts, or a relay by itself; your organization's gateway and service configuration determine available transports and data sources. Permissions: <all_urls> enables the document-start window.multicast bridge; tabs reads the requesting tab URL/origin and finds or focuses the singleton IWA/setup page; storage holds bounded local diagnostic state; alarms keeps the MV3 service worker available during active forwarding.
