Muffle

Quiets X down. Turn off the feed, hide people by their bio, see who unfollowed you.

Muffle cuts the noise on X without turning off X. See who unfollowed you, search your bookmarks, mute posts by keyword, and mute whole accounts by the words in their bio or handle. Everything runs locally in your browser. No distractions blanks your home timeline, Explore, trends and search. Posting, notifications, replies, messages and bookmarks carry on as normal. Site blockers make you choose between all of X and none of it. This turns off only the part that scrolls at you. Filters hide posts before they reach your screen, with nothing left to click. X's own mute leaves a box with a Show button, which is a delay rather than a mute. Muffle also matches on who someone is, not only what they wrote, so you can hide everyone whose bio mentions a phrase you are tired of reading. Cleanup lists everyone you follow who doesn't follow you back, with their bio, follower count and how long ago you followed them. Unfollow from the list. It paces itself so X doesn't lock you out, and backs off on its own if X pushes back. Followers tells you who unfollowed you, which X never does. Scan twice and the second scan names everyone who left and everyone new. Bookmarks keeps your own searchable copy, with tags and JSON export. No sign-in, no OAuth, no password, no server. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to. Cleanup and No distractions are free forever. A licence is $19 a year during launch year (2026) and 29$ next year onwards. Muffle is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp.
