Snip. Ask. Solved. Blur private details, summarize articles, craft replies, decode bills and many more! Wingshot lets you snip anything on your screen, blur out what’s private, and ask an AI about the rest — without your screenshots ever touching a third-party server you didn’t choose. HOW IT WORKS 1. Press Ctrl+Shift+X on any web page (or Ctrl+Shift+1 from your desktop or another app). 2. Drag a box around the part you care about. 3. Paint over anything sensitive — names, emails, account numbers — with the blur brush. It’s pixelated for real, not just hidden. 4. Ask a question — the answer streams back into the Wingshot popup. Or just hit Save Image to keep a redacted copy. You can also right-click a PDF (a bill, a receipt, a report) and ask about it directly. PDFs are sent whole, so check what's in them first — Wingshot can only blur what you can see. BRING YOUR OWN KEY Wingshot doesn’t run on our servers — it doesn’t have any. You connect your own Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude API key (Gemini has a free tier), and every request goes straight from your browser to that provider. You pay the provider directly at their rates; Wingshot adds nothing on top. PRIVACY, SPECIFICALLY • No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no telemetry. • Your API key is stored only on your device and never synced. • Screenshots are captured and blurred inside your browser; nothing is written to disk unless you click Save Image. • Blurring happens before the image is sent — the original pixels are gone. • Conversations live only while you’re using Wingshot — cleared when you close it or the browser. • Gemini requests are sent with “store: false”, asking Google not to keep them. • The only sites Wingshot talks to are generativelanguage.googleapis.com and api.anthropic.com. WORKS ON • Any web page — snip with the crosshair, or right-click the page, an image, a PDF link or selected text and choose “Ask Wingshot”. • Whole articles — right-click a page and ask for a summary; Wingshot reads the article text, not just what fits on screen. • In the popup, or docked in Chrome’s side panel so it stays open while you browse. • Your desktop, Windows Settings, or any app window — via Chrome’s screen picker, then snip the exact area you want. GOOD FOR • “What does this error mean?” • “Summarise this chart / table / thread.” • “Explain this settings screen.” • “Translate this.” • Anything you’d screenshot and paste into a chatbot — minus the part where you paste your private data into a chatbot. You’ll need a Gemini or Claude API key. Wingshot walks you through getting one on first launch (about two minutes).
