Navigator — A more organized ChatGPT workspace Long conversations are easier to use when you can find important messages, revisit useful ideas, and keep your workspace organized. Navigator enhances the ChatGPT website with conversation navigation, search, bookmarks, writing tools, and customizable panels — without replacing the original ChatGPT experience. KEY FEATURES 1. Conversation Search & Navigation Search messages in the current conversation and navigate between results. Quickly revisit questions and responses without manually scrolling through a long chat. For earlier messages that are not currently loaded, Navigator offers an optional, user-initiated history indexing feature. Availability and navigation accuracy depend on ChatGPT's current interface and data structure. 2. Timeline & Question Navigation Use a compact timeline and question list to move through messages in the current conversation. Quickly find relevant sections and return to your reading position. 3. Conversation Bookmarks & Folders Bookmark important conversations and organize them into local folders. Select multiple bookmarks for easier management without changing ChatGPT's native Projects or pinned conversations. 4. Prompt Library Save, categorize, search, copy, and reuse prompts. Insert saved prompts into compatible input fields when you choose. A selection from a web page can also be saved through a right-click action. Starter prompts are available in supported interface languages. 5. Drafts & Writing Tools Use a movable scratch-draft window to prepare ideas before inserting them into ChatGPT. Expand the original composer, adjust its layout, and switch to compact image-attachment previews. Drafts are not automatically sent. 6. Side Chat Open an additional ChatGPT workspace for quick questions without leaving your main conversation. Navigator can attempt to display the official ChatGPT website in a side panel and provides a separate browser window when embedding is unavailable. 7. Reading & Image Tools Use reading panels, message highlights, and convenient image previews for images already available on the page. Image history indexing is optional. Some older images may have metadata without an accessible preview. Navigator does not guarantee a complete historical image gallery. 8. Personalization Customize Navigator's accent color, panel appearance, glass-inspired styles, text presentation, and workspace layout. Resize the sidebar directly by dragging its edge. Layout adjustments are applied only where the current ChatGPT interface supports them. 9. Optional Completion Notifications Choose whether to receive a desktop notification when a ChatGPT response appears to finish. Notification permission and the feature switch are both controlled by you. 10. Interactive First-Use Guide Follow a guided introduction to Navigator's controls. Skip it at any time or replay it later from Settings. PRIVACY & COMPATIBILITY Navigator operates on chatgpt.com. Settings, bookmarks, highlights, and saved prompts are stored locally through Chrome extension storage. Optional image-message indexing may save limited metadata and short context snippets. History indexing is initiated by the user and may access ChatGPT's first-party conversation data. Navigator does not automatically upload conversation content to a developer-operated server. Some features depend on ChatGPT's interface and may need adjustments when that interface changes. Navigator is independently developed, is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, and does not provide its own AI model or ChatGPT subscription.
