Mova Flow Meet Recorder
Overview
Record Google Meet, Teams, Zoom and Jitsi calls and transcribe them locally with Mova Flow — no cloud.
Mova Flow Meet Recorder records your calls in the browser — Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom (web client) and Jitsi Meet — both sides of the conversation, not just what you hear, and hands them to the Mova Flow app on your computer for transcription. No cloud, no third-party API, nothing leaves your network. REQUIRES THE MOVA FLOW APP This extension records; the free Mova Flow desktop app (Windows and macOS, github.com/f3an/Mova-Flow, version 0.4.12 or newer) transcribes. Install it on the same computer and keep it running — it transcribes on this machine, or through the Mova Flow host it's connected to (a PC with a GPU on your network, say), and keeps every recording in its History. Without the app, the extension saves recordings to Downloads instead. HOW IT WORKS • Press Record — the button this extension adds right into the call's own controls (next to mic and camera in Meet, Zoom's bottom bar, Teams' meeting controls, Jitsi's toolbox), or the same button in the extension's popup or side panel. • The first time on a call, Chrome needs you to call on the extension once: press Alt+Shift+R (⌥⇧R on Mac) or right-click the page → "Record this call with Mova Flow". The extension tells you when, and recording starts by itself. • It records everyone else from the tab's audio, and your own side from the audio the call itself sends to the others — so the extension never asks for or opens your microphone, and your side is silent whenever you're muted. • Press Stop & transcribe. The recording goes to the Mova Flow app, which files it in its History and transcribes it. • The transcript comes back in the extension, every line marked by who said it — "Me" for you, the others' names on Google Meet. Copy it or download it as .txt. SIDE PANEL Open the extension in the browser's side panel and it stays next to the call instead of closing on the first click elsewhere: Record, the app's History (search, copy, download, delete, transcribe what's still waiting), Upload for any audio or video file, and Settings. WHO SAID WHAT Your side and the call are kept on separate channels, so your lines are always told apart from everyone else's. On Google Meet, the extension also reads the speaker names shown in Meet's live captions (switched on only on your own screen, and back off afterwards) to put a name on each of the others. NO MICROPHONE ACCESS There is no microphone permission to grant. On Meet, Teams and Jitsi, what ends up in the recording from you is exactly what the other participants heard. Zoom's web client sends no such audio, so there your side is the microphone track Zoom itself opened — silenced while Zoom shows you muted. NEVER LOSES A RECORDING The app keeps each recording in its History before transcribing, so if your host is down it simply waits there as "Not transcribed" — one click on Transcribe once it's back. If the app itself isn't running, the recording is saved to your Downloads folder as a .wav. PRIVACY Recordings, transcripts and speaker names go only to the Mova Flow app on your own computer (127.0.0.1), and from there to the Mova Flow host you configured in the app, over your own local network. Nothing is ever sent to the developer or to any third party — there are no ads, no trackers, no telemetry.
