Translate a word, sentence, or paragraph by hovering over text on a web page.

Read web pages in other languages without copying text or leaving the page. Mouseover Translator displays a translation when you pause your pointer over a word, sentence, or paragraph. The original page stays unchanged, so you can keep reading naturally while checking translations exactly where you need them. The text you translate is not sent to an external translation server, collected, or permanently stored. Temporary translation results are kept only in the current page’s memory and disappear when the page is refreshed. Mouseover Translator works on regular HTTP and HTTPS web pages. Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, and certain protected frames cannot be accessed due to browser security restrictions. Requires Chrome 138 or later on desktop. Translation availability depends on the language pairs supported by Chrome.
