Motrix Extension
Overview
Send browser downloads to Motrix and manage aria2 tasks from Chrome
Motrix Extension connects Chrome with Motrix or any aria2-compatible JSON-RPC service, so browser downloads can be delegated to your local download manager while you keep task controls close at hand. Key features: - Send matching Chrome downloads to Motrix through aria2 JSON-RPC. - Add downloads from the right-click menu for links, media, pages, and selected text. - Handle HTTP, HTTPS, magnet, ed2k, and thunder links when enabled. - Preserve useful request context such as filenames, referer, user agent, headers, and cookies when forwarding is enabled. - Control active, waiting, and stopped aria2 tasks from the popup. - Pause, resume, remove, pause all, and resume all tasks. - Configure site rules, file type filters, size thresholds, cookie forwarding, header forwarding, and default directories. - Use light, dark, or system theme with English and Simplified Chinese interface support. The extension is designed for local use. It does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking integrations. Runtime network communication is intended for the Motrix or aria2 JSON-RPC endpoint configured by the user, such as `http://127.0.0.1:16800/jsonrpc`. Motrix or another aria2-compatible service must be installed and running for RPC download delegation and task management to work.
