Mortar Clipper

Capture any product page straight into your Mortar projects — including retailer sites that block Mortar's own scraper.

Mortar Clipper captures the product page you're already looking at and sends it straight to your Mortar project — no copy-pasting, no fighting a bot wall. Some retailer sites actively block automated tools from reading their pages. When that happens, Mortar's built-in scraper can't reach them from its own servers — but your browser can, because you're a real person looking at a real page. Mortar Clipper captures that page from right where you are and hands it to Mortar to turn into an item: name, image, price, and product link, ready to review and add to a room. What it does: - Click the toolbar icon on any product page and choose "Clip this page." - Mortar Clipper reads the page you're currently viewing and opens Mortar's own clip screen, where you pick the project and room and confirm the details before anything is saved. - Nothing is added to your account without you reviewing it first on that screen. What it needs, and why: - Read the current tab (only when you click the extension) — to capture the product page's content. - Run a small script on that tab — to extract the product details before sending them to Mortar. - Store a small amount of settings — to remember which Mortar deployment and connection token you've configured, so you don't have to re-enter them every time. Mortar Clipper does not read or modify any page unless you explicitly click the toolbar icon. It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing, and does not send page content anywhere other than your own Mortar account. A no-install alternative (a bookmarklet) is also available from Settings → Clipper inside Mortar, for anyone who'd rather not add an extension, or who uses a browser this extension doesn't support.
