Hi, Please ensure you are within a course when activating the extension and when you are the URL should look something like https://moodle.monash.edu.au/course/resources.php?id=7225. For a gif on how to use it you can head over to https://github.com/harsilspatel/moodle-downloader#with-moodledownloader-

you can do that by opening the video then WHILE it is playing right click on it and inspect element then search for .mp4 and you will find the direct link to the video.
if mp4 doesnt show up when viewing the source code of the website, then just refresh using ctrl+r and then click play again WHILE sourcecode is opened and then go back to source code and search for .mp4.
once you grab that link directly to the video you can then open it separately in a new tab and there will be a download button natively in google chrome player... Do it...
good luck...

Hi Daron,
I am unsure if that is something that can be done using the extension and I cannot verify it either since I'm not a student anymore.

Unsucessful in clicking and dragging resources
Hi Harsil,
I originally couldn't find the resources page of my moodle (Sciences Po), but I changed the 'view' to 'resources' as you suggested above and that took my to the resources page. However, using chrome on my HP windows laptop I'm unable to work out how to download documents? If I open the extension, then click and drag a document, the extension window dissapears. If I drag the extension icon on top of a document, nothing happens. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Hi Darcy,
I would've never thought of that! And now that you've mentioned it, it makes sense, it looks for keywords (which are in English) to fetch the resources and since Moodle was in French it couldn't find them. I'll make a note of that and will add it to the guide so as to help other non-english users. Thanks for the great find Darcy! Cheers!! 🎉

Hey again, I saw your GIF and that made sense, but nothing was coming up on my extension, no matter what I did. I was about to give up, then I had an idea and I've solved it I think! I was using moodle in French, and when I changed it to English all the documents appeared! It may or may not be something you want to change, but it seems like its only functional with moodle running in English. Thank for your help, it now seems to be working which is a lifesaver! Cheers

Hi Darcy,
I apologise if the instructions weren't super clear. You don't have to click and dead the document to the extension window. When you open the extension, it'll populate the window with a list of downloadable resources which you can select and press the button to download. There's a GIF on this webpage that will be helpful https://github.com/harsilspatel/MoodleDownloader
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need additional help :)
Cheers,
Harsil

Not working for Flinders University
I am able to find the resources page but the extension can't seem to find the resources (pdfs, recorded lectures, files, etc).
The only way my resources can be downloaded is by opening it individually then clicking on the link to view / download the file.
Flinders also use a SSO system called Okta, which might also be a problem too.

Organize into Folder tool
The Organize into Folder tool does not create folders for sections that contain forbidden folder name characters. Maybe you could replace those for allowed characters (like underscore or space).

Also, I'm guessing you're downloading from individual sections. While that is perfectly fine, but if you're planning to download all the resources for a given course, you may want to checkout the Resources tab for that course. You may find a link titled 'Resources' under the 'Activities' section. Alternatively, you can simply edit the url to get to the said tab. For instance, if the link is "https://lms.monash.edu/course/view.php?id=50620", you can simply replace the "view" in "view.php" to "resources", i.e. the updated link will be https://lms.monash.edu/course/resources.php?id=50620.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out :)

Hi Amy,
Thank you for taking the time to report the issue.
A bug was discovered (thanks to @LapisLazulis) wherein the extension would not work if there were any locked files, i.e. files that are not accessible or available for download. I have fixed that bug in the v1.4.5. Could you please update and see if it works?
Regards,
Harsil
