Every second of tracking, every productivity calculation, and every AI-powered page classification happens directly on your own computer. Your browsing history never leaves your device. Monky is simply here to help you notice where your time goes and gently encourage you toward your "Monk" moments using encouraging visual cues. What Monky Does: 1. Instant On-Device AI Classification Monky uses a compact, packaged machine learning model that runs 100% locally inside the extension. It analyzes active tab titles and URLs to immediately classify your focus state on your machine. 2. Privacy First Your raw browsing activity, productivity metrics, and daily stats are stored entirely inside your local browser storage. There are no user accounts, no analytics libraries, and no background tracking processes. 3. Encouraging Visual Feedback Instead of cold dashboards, Monky keeps you motivated with lighthearted visual feedback. As your focus grows, the monk mascot celebrates your discipline. If you drift off, the monkey reminds you to realign without any guilt. 4. Smart Habit Analysis & Coaching Review your last seven days with clean weekly reports tracking your productive time and habits. To help you improve, Monky provides direct coaching insights. By default, these insights are generated locally on your machine. For advanced analysis, you can optionally toggle "Cloud AI Insights" in your settings to connect directly with Google Gemini. Designed to Stay Lightweight: To preserve your Mac's battery and RAM, Monky uses a three-step classification pipeline: * Step 1 (Instant Recognition): Common productive resources (like documentation or coding sites) are recognized immediately without running AI. * Step 2 (Smart Memory): Previously visited pages are cached so they are never processed twice. * Step 3 (Local AI): Only completely new, unclassified tabs are evaluated using the on-device model, keeping resource usage to a minimum. Why Monky Needs These Permissions: * Tabs: Required on install to read the title and URL of your active tab for real-time focus classification. * Idle: Used to detect when you step away from your machine so inactive time is not counted as productive. * UnlimitedStorage: Used to save your local database of historical statistics, progress trends, and caches.
