Overview

Drag a box around a molecule image on a web page or PDF and turn it into an editable structure in MolDraw.

MolDraw Snip turns a picture of a chemical structure into a structure you can edit. Click the MolDraw Snip icon (or press Alt+Shift+M) and drag a box around a molecule on a web page or in a PDF. MolDraw Snip recognises the structure, shows it as SMILES and opens it in the MolDraw editor, where you can edit it in 2D and view it in 3D. How it works 1. Click the toolbar icon, press Alt+Shift+M, or right-click and choose "Capture molecule with MolDraw". 2. Drag a box around the structure. 3. Check the result, copy the SMILES or molfile, or click "Open in MolDraw". Features • Recognises single molecules, several structures at once and reaction schemes. • Works on web pages and on PDFs open in Chrome or Edge. For PDF files on your computer, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for the extension. • If MolDraw is already open, the new structure is added to your drawing without covering existing work. • Scan history: your recent scans in the popup, and a page where you can search, rename, reopen, delete or export them. • Sign in from the popup with your MolDraw account. Plans The extension is free to install. Recognising structures needs MolDraw Pro, which includes a monthly scan allowance. Structure recognition is provided by Mathpix. Privacy The extension only looks at a tab when you start a capture. The selected image is used for recognition and is not stored. Your scan history is private and you can delete it at any time. No ads and no tracking. Privacy policy: https://www.moldraw.com/pages/chrome-addon-privacy.html
