Task Anchor
Overview
Set persistent, localized reminders and alarms for specific browser tabs.
Task Anchor: Contextual Webpage Reminders & Tab Resurrection Task Anchor is a productivity utility that allows users to set time-based reminders and alarms tied to specific website URLs. If you are tracking a time-sensitive task on a specific website (like submitting a timesheet, waiting for a ticket queue, or reading an article later), this extension ensures you do not forget to return to that exact page. How to Use Task Anchor (Step-by-Step): Navigate to the website you want to save. Click the Task Anchor extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup UI. Select a Duration: Choose either a quick countdown timer (e.g., 15 minutes) or an "Exact Clock" time of day. Select an Urgency level (Low, Medium, or High). Type a brief Task Note (e.g., "Submit Friday Timesheet"). Optional: Check "Persistent Banner & Sound". Click "Set Reminder". You can now safely close the tab. What Happens When the Timer Ends: • Tab Resurrection: The extension will automatically open a new browser tab navigating to the exact URL you saved. • Visual Alert Banner: If "Persistent Banner & Sound" was enabled, the extension injects a visual notification banner at the very top of the webpage displaying your Task Note. • Audio Chime: A repeating sound will play based on your chosen urgency level until you click the "Done" or "Snooze" buttons on the injected banner. Core Features Breakdown: • Local Preset Storage: Save your most-used timer countdowns in the settings panel for quick access. • History Log: View pending and completed task reminders directly inside the extension popup. • Urgency-Based Pinging: High priority alerts repeat aggressively (every 10 seconds), while Low priority is casual (every 5 minutes). • Snooze UI: Temporarily dismiss the injected webpage banner by clicking the Snooze button. (Privacy & Permissions Note: Task Anchor requires host permissions and scripting solely to inject the alert banner and snooze buttons directly into the DOM of the active webpage when a timer expires. All preset timers, task notes, and histories are stored entirely locally on your machine via Chrome Storage.) Created by Palash Dubey LinkedIn: https://in.linkedin.com/in/palash-d
