Overview
De-emphasize low-follower replies on X. Premium exceptions, blocked-author markers, and a weekly local cache. No extra requests.
Make X (Twitter) easier to read without removing posts. CalmX reduces the visual emphasis of notifications and conversation replies from accounts below your chosen follower threshold. Posts remain in place, readable, and interactive. CalmX does not mute or block accounts on X. CHOOSE WHAT TO DIM • Set separate follower thresholds for notifications and replies. • Adjust dimmed post visibility from 5% to 100%. • Enable grayscale and restore visibility on hover or keyboard focus. • Preview your settings before saving. • Use English or Russian, selected automatically or manually. PREMIUM ACCOUNTS STAY VISIBLE Accounts explicitly identified by X as Premium are exempt from follower-based dimming. Unknown follower counts are left unchanged. For grouped notifications, the whole card is dimmed only when all participants are known to qualify; otherwise eligible individual names and avatars can be dimmed. RECOGNIZE AUTHORS WHO BLOCKED YOU When X reports that an author has blocked you, CalmX gives their post a soft red tint and fixed 40% visibility. This separate rule also applies to Premium accounts and is independent of the follower thresholds and hover setting. WEEKLY MEMORY, ZERO EXTRA REQUESTS CalmX reads account data from responses X already loads. It never crawls profiles or sends additional requests. Follower counts are stored locally by account ID and retained for at least seven days. After that, the next ordinary X response can refresh them. Until fresh data arrives, the last known count remains in use. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Settings and follower data stay in your browser. There is no analytics, external server, or API key to configure. Viewer-specific blocking information stays in page memory. CalmX does not persist post text, direct messages, cookies, or authentication tokens. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS Follower filtering applies to notifications and replies in an opened conversation, not the home timeline or the focal post. Blocked-author highlighting can also apply to main-column posts elsewhere. X must provide the relevant account data; unknown or unrecognized information is left unchanged. X interface changes can affect compatibility. Project and source code: https://github.com/xen/calmx Sponsor: Dzen — https://dzen.dev/ CalmX is independent and is not affiliated with X.
