A little cat. A happier tab. Mochi Cat is an interactive browser pet for Chrome. Your virtual cat takes short walks, runs out and back, and can follow your mouse along the bottom of ordinary webpages. As it walks or runs, Mochi leaves tiny pawprints that fade in about four seconds. A little company while you read, research, work, or wander around the web. MEET YOUR BROWSER CAT • Walking and running. Send Mochi on a stroll or watch it dash to the other side and back. • Fading pawprints. Alternating pawprints trace the cat’s path and let you click through to the page as they fade. • Mouse following. Turn it on to let Mochi follow your cursor along the bottom edge. • 13 playful actions. Wave, roll all the way over, jump, nap, cuddle, walk, run, lick a paw, groom the back, leave pawprints, drop a note, draw scratch marks, or make a heading wiggle. Opening the on-page action menu pauses Mochi so you can choose at your own pace. • Your cat, your way. Drag Mochi to another spot, adjust its size, or hide it from the toolbar when you want to focus. • Three playfulness modes. Choose Just cute, Gentle mischief, or Extra playful. The visual effects end on their own. • 13 interface languages. Choose a language or select Auto (browser). Menus and cat messages update right away, and your preference is saved. • Reduced motion. Mochi respects your system’s reduced-motion preference. GET STARTED 1. Install Mochi Cat, then open or refresh an ordinary webpage. 2. Open Mochi from the Chrome toolbar to set its language, size, mouse following, and playfulness. 3. Click the cat for actions, or drag it to move it. PRIVACY AND SETTINGS You can use Mochi without an account. The animation files come with the extension. Mochi does not record your browsing history or upload webpage content. Chrome sync storage saves preferences such as visibility, language, and size. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is Mochi a desktop pet? Mochi is a browser pet that lives inside ordinary Chrome webpages. Why is the cat missing on some pages? Mochi works on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS webpages. Chrome restricts extensions on internal pages and in the Chrome Web Store. Some site layouts may also affect how Mochi appears. How long do pawprints last? About four seconds. Mochi leaves trail prints while moving, and hiding the cat clears the trail immediately. Can I make Mochi less distracting? Yes. Choose Just cute to turn off automatic pranks, switch off mouse following, or hide Mochi with the toolbar toggle. Make a little room for a cat in your everyday browsing.
