Pangzhu: Translate & Annotate Web Pages
Overview
Select text on any page to translate it into your language, write notes beside it, and save the page with notes as offline HTML.
Read in any language, in yours, and take notes right on the page, the way you would in a textbook. SELECT TO LOOK UP Select any text and a card shows the translation into your browser's language, dictionary definitions and pronunciation for English words, and a translation of the whole sentence. It uses Chrome's built-in on-device translator, so no account is needed. You can pick a different target language in settings. Built-in translation requires desktop Chrome with the Translator API; Chrome may need to download models or language packs on first use. WRITE ON THE PAGE • Above the line: put the translation right above the words • Margin notes: write your own explanation next to the paragraph, numbered and linked to the text • Highlights in four colors, with tags (Vocab, Key point, Question, Connection) • Switch between Notes, Highlights and Original at any time • Handwriting or print style for notes SAVED PER PAGE Come back to a page and your notes are where you left them, even on pages that load content late. The library in settings lets you search, open and delete everything you've annotated. SAVE AS OFFLINE HTML When you're done, save the article with its images and all your notes as a single HTML file. Navigation and ads are removed, it opens without a connection, it keeps the Notes / Highlights / Original switch, and it ends with a list of all your notes. OPTIONAL: YOUR OWN AI Optionally connect an AI service to get a short explanation of the selection in its sentence, or use it for translation. You choose and configure the service, supplying your own API key when required. Local model endpoints are also supported. Any provider fees are charged to your own account. PRIVACY Your notes and settings stay in your browser, including the addresses and titles of pages you annotate. No account, no developer-operated data server, no analytics. Only when you use a feature: the selected English word goes to a dictionary service, and, if you enabled and configured AI, the selected text, its sentence and the page title go to your selected AI service. API keys are sent only to the configured service for authentication. FREE Every feature is free, with no ads. If you find it useful, there's an optional tip link at the bottom of the settings page; it unlocks nothing.
