MLOG turns a meeting into a transcript, a summary and follow-up items. This extension is the browser end of it: it records the audio of a meeting tab you choose and hands it to your MLOG workspace. WHAT IT DOES The MLOG browser extension does exactly one thing: record the audio of a meeting tab you choose. It has no content script, so it never reads the contents of any page you visit, and it records nothing until you press “Start recording”. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • Nothing joins your meeting as a participant — no bot appears in the call. • Video is never requested. BEFORE YOU START This extension is free to install and charges nothing of its own, but it is a client for MLOG, which is a paid product: there is no free plan, and creating an account grants no allowance by itself. You choose a plan and pay for it on mlog.ai before any recording is metered. Connecting opens an authorisation page once — if you are already signed in, one tap on “Allow” is all it takes, with no password to type again. WHY EACH PERMISSION IS NEEDED • Tab audio capture: to record the audio of the tab you are on, from the moment you press “Start recording” until you press stop. Video is never requested — not a single frame of your screen is captured. • Background document: to keep the recording loop running. The extension’s popup closes the moment it loses focus, so the recording cannot live there. • Local storage: to remember that a recording is in progress, so one the browser cut short can still be uploaded afterwards. It holds a meeting identifier and a timestamp — no meeting content. • Sign-in: to connect the extension to your MLOG account once, without typing your password again. • Access to our API only: to create the meeting and upload the recorded audio. The extension talks to no other host. ONE THING TO READ BEFORE YOU RELY ON IT While recording, every audio segment is written to the browser’s local storage before it is uploaded, and segments already written are not lost. But the browser can end the capture at any time — closing the tab or the browser, the extension being updated or disabled, or the system going to sleep all stop the recording, and the segment still being gathered (up to 5 seconds) goes with it. If a meeting cannot be repeated, use the MLOG desktop app instead: it records in its own process and does not depend on the browser staying open. DATA USE MLOG’s use and transfer of any information received through the browser extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
