Overview

View MLB game intensity & follow your teams.

MLB Focus Detector is a browser extension built for baseball fans who want to quickly find the most exciting game to watch when there are several going on at once. Instead of just showing scores or standings, the extension calculates a live “focus score” for every game based on how dramatic the current situation is — things like inning, base/out state, score difference, and how much a run would shift win expectancy. If there are runners on base in a close game late in the innings, and the next pitch could flip the outcome, that game gets a higher score. The popup shows games sorted by this score in real time, so you can quickly identify the most exciting ones. You can click into a game’s MLB Gameday or directly launch the MLB.TV stream. If you have set favorite teams, they will be prioritized and highlighted in the UI. The focus score combines statistical modeling and live game data. It is designed to approximate how much the win expectancy would shift given a potential scoring event. For example, a bases-loaded situation in the 9th inning of a 1-run game will yield a much higher focus score than a blowout early in the game. The extension is especially useful for fans who want to jump into the best part of the game without watching from the beginning. It works in all timezones and allows basic personalization.
