Overview

Copy or download the transcript of any YouTube video in one click, then search it, star key lines or turn it into notes.

ScriptSnap adds Copy and Download buttons right under every video, so you can save the full text of what was said in a few seconds. There is no sign-up, no limit and no ads. What you can do - Copy the whole transcript, with or without timestamps - Download it as a plain text file, a subtitle file for video editors, or notes you can open in any editor or spreadsheet - Open a side panel that highlights each line as the video plays, and click any time to jump there - Search for any word the speaker said and jump between matches - Star the key lines, then copy only the lines you starred - Merge short caption lines into easy-to-read paragraphs - See the chapters, word count, reading time and main topics of a video - Switch the caption language, or use auto-translate when the video offers it - Build a ready-made prompt for a summary, study notes or a blog post, then paste it into the AI assistant you already use Who it's for Students taking notes from lectures, researchers who need accurate quotes, creators turning videos into articles and subtitles, and anyone who learns from video. Private by design Everything runs inside your browser. ScriptSnap has no servers, no account and no analytics. It only works on youtube.com and only uses the storage permission to remember your settings and starred lines. How to use it 1. Open a video on youtube.com. 2. Click Copy or Download under the video title, or click Transcript to open the panel. 3. Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+T opens the panel and Alt+Shift+C copies the text. Good to know ScriptSnap works on videos that have captions, including auto-generated captions. Translation depends on what each video supports. ScriptSnap is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
