AI Assistant for Web Content is a flexible Chrome extension that lets you run custom AI prompts on selected webpage content. Instead of being limited to summarization, you can create your own prompt buttons for different websites and use them for analysis, Q&A, rewriting, translation, key point extraction, sentiment checks, brainstorming, and more. Version 1.3 - Added support for additional LLM providers. - Added Anthropic, Ollama, and OpenAI-compatible API support. - Added local LLM configuration fields for Ollama and OpenAI-compatible servers. - Added a visual selector picker: click an area on a webpage to choose the content you want the AI to process. - Updated preset model lists for OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic. - Improved provider request handling and error messages. Key Features Visual Selector Picker No need to manually inspect page HTML or write CSS selectors from scratch. Use the Pick Selector button, click the content area on the webpage, and the extension will fill in the selector for you. Custom Prompt Buttons Create your own AI actions with custom labels and prompts. For example: - Summarize this article - Extract key points - Analyze sentiment - Translate this content - Rewrite in simpler language - Generate questions and answers - Brainstorm ideas from this page Multiple LLM Provider Support Choose from several provider options depending on your workflow: - OpenAI - Google Gemini - Anthropic - Ollama - OpenAI-compatible APIs Local LLM Support Use local models through Ollama or OpenAI-compatible local servers such as LM Studio, LocalAI, vLLM, or other compatible tools. This makes it possible to build workflows with locally hosted models while keeping the same browser-based prompt button experience. Domain-Specific Configuration Save different settings for different websites. Each domain can have its own: - LLM provider - API key or local endpoint - Model name - Content selectors - Custom prompt buttons Multi-Selector Support Configure multiple content selectors for a single domain. Each selector can have its own set of prompt buttons, so different parts of a page can use different AI actions. Bring Your Own API Key Use your own API keys for supported hosted providers. Your configuration is stored in Chrome extension storage and used when you trigger your prompt actions. How It Works 1. Open the extension settings. 2. Enter the domain you want to configure, such as example.com. 3. Choose an LLM provider and configure the API key, model, or local endpoint. 4. Add a content selector manually, or use Pick Selector to click the area of the webpage you want to process. 5. Create prompt buttons with custom labels and prompts. 6. Save the settings. 7. Visit the configured webpage and click your custom prompt buttons to process the selected content. AI Assistant for Web Content helps you turn webpages into customizable AI workflows, whether you use cloud providers or local LLMs.
