Transcribe documents and images directly from Chrome using Mistral OCR. Chrome Mistral OCR lets you process PDFs, images, documents, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets from the extension popup. You can preview the OCR result, edit the extracted Markdown, copy the content, export it, save images, and generate a PDF from the rendered preview. 🔍 Main features OCR powered by mistral-ocr-latest. Support for two API keys, each with a custom label, so you can quickly switch between accounts or profiles. Optional image extraction from processed files. Export extracted images as a ZIP file or as separate files. Preview and edit transcriptions with a Markdown editor, rendered preview, optional autosave, copy button, Markdown export, and PDF export. Highlight low-confidence OCR words to help you review uncertain text more easily. Save transcriptions locally and search them by name, URL, SHA, or file type. Support for Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. Browser-language localization with English fallback. 📄 Supported formats Primarily supports PDF documents rendered individually in Chrome, as well as Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets documents. Additionally, the extension works with any image that Chrome renders individually in a new tab. ⚙️ First use Create an API key in the Mistral Console: https://console.mistral.ai/ Then open the extension, click Configure, paste your key into API key 1, and click Save. You can also configure API key 2 if you want to switch between two accounts or usage profiles. After setup, open a compatible document, image, or file in Chrome, open the Mistral OCR extension, choose whether to download images, and click Transcribe (OCR). If a transcription already exists for the current URL, the main button will change to Overwrite. To use local PDFs or files with file:// URLs, enable Allow access to file URLs for this extension in chrome://extensions. 🔐 Privacy This extension sends the documents, images, or files you choose to process to Mistral AI. By using the extension, you accept that those contents are handled according to Mistral AI’s current terms and policies. If you process sensitive documents, review your Mistral AI plan’s privacy conditions before using the extension. This extension is independent and unofficial. It is not associated with Mistral AI. 🛠 Troubleshooting If OCR does not start, make sure an API key is saved and that the active Chrome tab contains a compatible resource. If a background OCR job is already running, wait for it to finish or cancel it before starting a new one.
