Mister Download Manager

Hands downloads from the browser to Mister Download Manager.

Mister Download Manager (MDM) is a free, open-source download manager (GPL-3.0) for Windows, Linux and macOS. This extension connects your browser to it. What it does: • Takes your downloads. Files of the types you choose in MDM go to MDM instead of the browser, with the page they came from and your sign-in for the site, so downloads behind a login still work. Hold Alt while clicking to leave one to the browser. • A Download video button over videos on any page, including HLS and DASH streams. Drag it along the video's edge, hide it on one video, or turn it off for a site. • Media on this page: the toolbar button lists the streams, videos and sounds the page has loaded, with their qualities, length and size. One click sends any of them to MDM. Copy-protected (DRM) media is marked Protected and never sent. • Right-click any link: Download with Mister Download Manager, Download selected links, Download all links. • Works behind your VPN or proxy extension. Turn on "Send downloads through this browser's proxy or VPN extension" in the toolbar button, and MDM downloads through the same proxy as the browser. It's off until you turn it on; while it's off, the extension doesn't read the browser's proxy. • Says why. When a download stays with the browser, the toolbar button tells you which setting decided it (its file type, the site, its size), and how to change it. • Your choice, per site. Pause taking downloads, or never take them from a given site, from the toolbar button. • Send to another MDM. Pair the extension with MDM running on a server or another computer on your network, and your downloads go there. • Always shows whether the browser reaches MDM, and how to fix it when it doesn't. MDM downloads over several connections at once, resumes after a cut connection or a restart, and has a scheduler, queues, a speed limiter, torrents and video downloads. Requires the free Mister Download Manager app: https://misterdownloadmanager.com No ads, no analytics: nothing is sent anywhere except to MDM on your own computer, or to the MDM you paired it with.
