Missing Toolkit: Templates is a Chrome extension for QuickBooks Online users who need to generate professional documents — on your own letterhead, from your own templates — directly from the QuickBooks Online pages they're already working on. Instead of switching between QuickBooks Online and the Missing Toolkit: Templates web app, this extension brings document generation right into your browser workflow. When you're viewing a supported record in QuickBooks Online, the extension detects it automatically and lets you generate a formatted Word document or PDF with a single click. HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in with your Missing Toolkit: Templates account 2. Open a supported record in QuickBooks Online 3. The extension automatically detects the page you're on 4. Select a template, choose your output format (Word or PDF), and click Generate 5. Your document downloads instantly FEATURES - Automatic page detection: The extension recognizes when you're viewing a supported QuickBooks Online record and activates automatically. A badge on the extension icon lets you know it's ready. - Always current: The extension asks Missing Toolkit which QuickBooks Online records are supported, so newly added record types start working without you having to update the extension. - One-click document generation: Select your template, pick your output format, and generate. No need to copy record numbers, navigate to another app, or search for the right record. - Multiple output formats: Generate documents as Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF files, depending on your needs. - Smart connection matching: If you have multiple QuickBooks Online companies connected to your Missing Toolkit account, the extension identifies which company you're currently working in and selects the right connection, so a document is never generated against the wrong company. - Template library: Access all of your team's Missing Toolkit templates directly from the extension popup. Use the same templates you've already set up in the web app. - Secure authentication: Sign in with your Missing Toolkit: Templates account. Your session token is stored in Chrome's extension storage, isolated from web pages and from other extensions, and is used only to communicate with the Missing Toolkit API. It expires automatically and can be revoked at any time from Settings, or sign out from the extension popup. WHO IS THIS FOR? This extension is for existing Missing Toolkit: Templates users who work in QuickBooks Online and want a faster way to generate documents. You need an active Missing Toolkit: Templates subscription and at least one connected QuickBooks Online company with templates configured. REQUIREMENTS - An active Missing Toolkit: Templates subscription - At least one QuickBooks Online company connected to your Missing Toolkit account - One or more document templates configured in Missing Toolkit - Google Chrome browser SUPPORTED QUICKBOOKS ONLINE RECORDS The list of supported QuickBooks Online records grows over time, and the extension picks up additions automatically. For the current list and what each one can produce, see: https://templates.missingtoolkit.com/quickbooks PRIVACY & SECURITY - This extension only activates on QuickBooks Online pages (qbo.intuit.com, app.qbo.intuit.com, and sandbox.qbo.intuit.com). It does not access or read any other websites. - Your Missing Toolkit: Templates login credentials are sent directly to the Missing Toolkit API over HTTPS and are never stored by the extension. - Your authentication token is stored in Chrome's extension storage, which is isolated from web pages and from other extensions. It is used only to communicate with the Missing Toolkit API, expires automatically, and can be revoked at any time from your Missing Toolkit account settings. - The extension reads two things from the QuickBooks Online page you are viewing: the record type and record identifier from the page address, and your QuickBooks Online company identifier, so it can select the matching connection in your account. It reads no other page content. All QuickBooks Online data used to build your document is retrieved by the Missing Toolkit API through Intuit's official QuickBooks Online API. - The extension checks with the Missing Toolkit API for the list of supported QuickBooks Online record types.
