MindTrace helps you capture those moments before they disappear: not just what you highlighted, but what you were thinking, where it came from, and how it connects to ideas you recorded before. From quick capture on any page to Mind Garden and Mind Cosmos, scattered notes can grow into a map you can actually revisit. ■ On the web: capture without breaking flow · Select text and tap “Record inspiration” to save the quote plus your thought · Shortcuts: Alt+Shift+M for current selection; Alt+Shift+N for a quick note without selecting text · Click the extension icon to open the capture panel on the active tab · Thought evidence: paste or drag images, save images from the page context menu, or capture the visible area as screenshots alongside your note · Optionally link new entries to past thoughts when saving · Page title, URL, and selected text are stored automatically for context later ■ Mind Garden: organize, search, revisit · Timeline of all entries with full-text search (Ctrl+K) · Multiple gardens to separate topics or projects · Tag cloud and tag management · Today’s thoughts, curated pickups, and random recall to resurface older ideas · Cognitive observations: local insights such as emerging themes, long-term interests, and how your focus shifts over time—not a chatbot, more like a mirror for your thinking · Cognitive trajectory widget for recent rhythm · Export everything to Markdown for backup or your note-taking workflow ■ Mind Cosmos: see hidden connections · Force-directed graph of your notes as nodes · On-device semantic embeddings connect similar thoughts (optional one-time model download; CDN permission required for first use) · Theme clustering to explore how ideas relate across your library ■ Privacy · Notes, tags, image evidence, and embeddings stay on your device (chrome.storage + IndexedDB) · We do not upload your notes to our servers; no browsing tracking, ads, or analytics · Semantic features are optional and use locally cached open-source models when enabled Built for readers, learners, writers, researchers, and anyone who wants “I just thought of…” to become searchable later.
