Overview

Regulate your nervous system with a breathing exercise before scrolling social media.

Do you find yourself opening social media without even thinking? Mindful Scroll is a simple yet powerful "pattern interrupt" tool designed to help you regain control over your digital habits and regulate your nervous system. What it does: Whenever you attempt to visit addictive sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok), Mindful Scroll gently intercepts the page load. Instead of the feed, you are greeted with a calming, full-screen breathing exercise. How it works: The Pause: The extension triggers a guided 4-second inhale / 6-second exhale rhythm. This specific ratio is scientifically proven to activate your parasympathetic nervous system and reduce anxiety. The Focus: Visual cues (a glowing, expanding circle) and optional Zen audio bells guide your breath for 3 short cycles. The Choice: Once your nervous system is regulated, you make a conscious choice: continue to the site with intention, or close the tab and get back to your day. Why you should install it: - Stop Doomscrolling: Break the dopamine loop of unconscious scrolling. - Reduce Digital Anxiety: Center yourself before consuming content. - Regain Your Time: That 30-second pause is often enough to realize you didn't really need to check that notification. Take a breath. Scroll with intention.
