EXPORT CONVERSATIONS — 10 PLATFORMS, MULTIPLE FORMATS, 4 TRIGGERS MindArchive provides full support on 10 AI platforms. Not just AI platforms — select text on any webpage, right-click, and export. The generic content extractor works everywhere. Four ways to trigger an export: - Inline icon — Hover over any AI reply to reveal an export icon positioned beside the platform's native icons. Click to export that message directly. - Right-click menu — Select text on any page, right-click → MindArchive → choose a format. On AI platforms, right-click a message to export the full reply, or right-click empty space to export the entire conversation. - Popup panel — Click the MindArchive icon in your browser toolbar to access all export options in one panel. - Checkbox selective export — Enable checkbox mode to pick exactly which messages to export. Checkboxes appear before each message. Selections survive scrolling even on virtual-DOM pages. Six export formats: Markdown, PDF, Word and more — conversation structure, code blocks, tables, and formatting are preserved in all supported formats. Pre-export editing — Every export opens in a WYSIWYG editor. Preview, edit, add notes — then download in your preferred format. AI metadata (title, tags, summary) is embedded in the output across all formats. ChatGPT — Inline Icon, Right-Click, Popup, Selective Export Claude — Inline Icon, Right-Click, Popup, Selective Export DeepSeek — Inline Icon, Right-Click, Popup, Selective Export and 7 more AI platforms — same four trigger methods Any webpage — Right-Click, Popup LOCAL MARKDOWN KNOWLEDGE BASE At the heart of MindArchive is a local, Obsidian-compatible Markdown knowledge base. Save conversations from any AI platform or web content with one click — everything is stored as standard .md files in a folder you choose on your computer. No proprietary format, no lock-in. - File tree management — Create, rename, delete, and organize files and folders. Drag and drop to reorder or move files between categories (custom sort mode). Multi-select with Ctrl+Click / Shift+Click for batch operations. - Full-text search — Press Ctrl+K to open the global search modal. Results are split into file matches (by name or category path) and content matches (by title, body, or tags), with matching lines highlighted. Arrow keys to navigate, Enter to open, Esc to close. Powered by Orama inverted index with CJK bigram tokenization. - Built-in WYSIWYG editor — Rich formatting toolbar with headings, bold, italic, code blocks, tables, images, and more. Auto-saves 600ms after you stop typing. Table editing with a floating menu for row/column operations. - Properties panel — Editable metadata: title, tags, platform, category. Read-only: creation date, word count, AI summary, source URL. Stored as YAML frontmatter. - Categories & tags — Categories map one-to-one with disk folders. Tags are stored in YAML frontmatter, edited as chips in the properties panel. AI auto-generates 3–5 tags when saving to KB. When you first use the knowledge base, you'll be asked to select a folder on your computer. A permission dialog will appear — check "Always allow on every visit" for permanent access. OBSIDIAN TWO-WAY COMPATIBILITY Your knowledge base uses standard Markdown files with YAML frontmatter — the same format Obsidian uses. Select your Obsidian vault as the storage directory and both apps share the same files. Edit in Obsidian and changes appear in MindArchive. Edit in MindArchive and changes appear in Obsidian. Folder structure, tags, metadata — all preserved bidirectionally. You don't need Obsidian at all — the knowledge base is a fully functional standalone manager. But if you use both, they work together seamlessly. MARKDOWN FILE VIEWER — OPEN .MD FILES IN CHROME Double-click any .md file to view it beautifully rendered in Chrome — syntax-highlighted code blocks, tables, images, and an auto-generated table of contents with scroll-spy navigation. The viewer starts in read-only preview mode. To unlock editing: click the authorization button, re-select the same file in the system file picker, and the full WYSIWYG toolbar appears. Changes auto-save back to the original file. Permission is persisted — reopen the same file and editing is ready immediately. Lightweight, fast, and already in your browser. No extra software needed. SIDE PANEL QUICK NOTES Watching a video tutorial or reading an article? Open the side panel and jot down ideas without switching tabs. Notes are auto-saved as you type (300ms debounce), survive panel close/reopen, and can be archived into your knowledge base with one click. The 3 most recent notes are always available in the history list. INPUT MEMORY — STOP RETYPING Automatically remembers text you type in web forms and refills it anywhere with one shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y). Stored locally only — passwords and credit-card fields are never recorded. Review, search, or delete entries from the Dashboard. BOOKMARK MANAGEMENT Automatically captures every bookmark you save in Chrome and lets you browse, search, organize, and back them up from the Dashboard. Bookmarks convert to and from Markdown — save your bookmark tree to the knowledge base, or turn any note into a browser bookmark. AI ENHANCEMENT (OPTIONAL) Connect your own API key from DeepSeek, OpenAI, Claude — or run Ollama locally at zero cost. MindArchive will auto-generate titles, tags, summaries, and clean up noise from your exports. Four independent toggles let you control exactly what AI does. - Your API key stays on your machine. Content goes directly from your browser to your chosen LLM provider — no intermediary. - AI features are opt-in and disabled by default. GITHUB BACKUP & SYNC Sync your entire knowledge base to a private GitHub repository for version-controlled backup — full history, rollback, and multi-device access. Push from your desktop, pull on your laptop. All under your control. FEEDBACK — WE'RE LISTENING The extension is under active development, and your feedback directly shapes what we build next. Found a bug? Think a design could be improved? Have a feature idea? Feedback entry points are available in the Knowledge Base page, popup panel, inline export dropdown menu, and side panel. Every submission is read and valued. PRIVACY & DATA - Files on your disk — Knowledge base entries are regular .md files in a folder you choose. Uninstall the extension, and your files remain. - No cloud server — MindArchive has no backend. Your data is never uploaded to the developer's infrastructure. - No accounts — Install and use. No sign-up required. - Completely free — All features available at no cost. No paid tiers, no subscriptions.
