Mimora — Japanese Learning Layer & JLPT-Aware Dual Subtitles
Overview
Learn Japanese with YouTube and Netflix subtitles, news, scenes and your own files. Save words and sentences; review in context.
Watching a lot of Japanese and still not following the real thing? Mimora turns what you watch, read and hear into lessons you can actually learn from: every sentence understood, every word and grammar point saved with where you met it, and everything coming back in review. **Videos and news, understood sentence by sentence.** - Dual subtitles with furigana and romaji; tap any word for meaning, reading and forms - 945 JLPT grammar points (N5–N1) detected in every sentence, with notes and examples - Japanese news in the same reader, read aloud in a natural voice if you like **Scenes: create your own, and play any role.** - Describe any situation — a clinic call, a job interview, returning something to a shop — and Mimora writes the scene for you, with its characters and level - Practice either side: pick any role in any scene, shared or your own - Scripted mode: every line has a voice, and you say your lines. Free mode: the other characters answer whatever you say, out loud - Your lines go into review **Your own audio and documents, as lessons.** - Transcribe as you speak: sentences appear after each pause. Or transcribe a video or audio file - Open your own PDF, Word and TXT files as they were made, and click any sentence to study it - Drag two transcripts together to merge them **Save where you met it, then review.** - Every saved word and grammar point keeps its sentence, source and moment; see them all, newest first - Review on a memory schedule: word cards with the word blanked out, scene lines, and whole videos checked by ear with fill-the-gap - Rinrin, an AI companion, answers questions about any word, grammar point or sentence Core features are free. Upgrade for unlimited saved words, more video review, longer transcription and more AI. Payment and subscriptions are handled through Stripe, not inside the extension. The microphone is used only when you choose to record, and your recordings and documents are private to you. When you open an article to read, Mimora asks Chrome for access to that one site only; you can revoke it at any time in Chrome's extension settings.
