Overview

Windows-style middle-click autoscroll for Chrome on macOS.

Windows-style middle-click autoscroll for Chrome on macOS. Click the middle mouse button (or press the scroll wheel), then move the mouse: the page scrolls that way, and the further you move, the faster it goes. It works just like autoscroll in Chrome on Windows. How to use: • Middle-click, then move the mouse to scroll. Click again or press any key to stop. • Or hold the middle button down while you move, and let go to stop. • Middle-clicking a link still opens it in a new tab. • Switching to another tab or app stops scrolling. The cursor shows which way you can scroll. It works everywhere you'd expect: on the page itself, in scrolling boxes inside it, and in embedded frames. Options: Click the extension's icon in the toolbar to: • Adjust the speed, how quickly it speeds up, and how far you can move before scrolling starts • Keep the same speed on every display (on by default), so standard-resolution monitors scroll at the same speed as your Mac's Retina screen. Turn it off to have them scroll faster, as in Chrome on Windows • Choose between click-to-scroll and hold-to-scroll only • Show a marker where you clicked • Choose whether middle-clicking a link opens it or starts scrolling • Pause hover effects while scrolling, for smoother scrolling on laggy sites • Turn it off on sites you choose Good to know: • Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages (such as Settings), the Chrome Web Store, other extensions' pages or the built-in PDF viewer, so autoscroll isn't available there. • To use it on files opened from your Mac, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" in the extension's details (chrome://extensions). Privacy: It collects no data and never connects to the internet.
