Convert speech to text in any input field using voice typing and Web Speech API. Just press Alt + V and start speaking. No setup required. MicBuddy is a voice-to-text Chrome extension that allows you to dictate directly into any input field on the web. Using your browser’s built-in Web Speech API, MicBuddy enables speech recognition in real time — no accounts, external servers, or AI APIs required. MicBuddy works on a variety of websites, including Gmail, Notion, Google Docs, LinkedIn, forms, and any site where you normally type. It’s perfect for users who want to boost productivity, reduce typing strain, or improve accessibility through hands-free input. MicBuddy supports all languages recognized by your browser’s speech engine, depending on your system configuration. You can also change your language in Chrome’s voice settings. To use MicBuddy, focus any input or textarea field, then press Alt + V on your keyboard to start dictation. MicBuddy will listen to your speech and type the recognized words directly into the selected field. You can also customize the shortcut in chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
