Overview
Syncs meeting apps (Google Meet) with Mic Drop (macOS only).
**⚠️ NOTE: This extension requires a macOS companion app and will not function on Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS.** Sync your Mic Drop mute state with Google Meet running in Google Chrome. ----- If you use Google Meet, you’ve probably noticed that Mic Drop works great to mute your mic—but Google Meet doesn’t get it. Nobody on the call sees the “muted” icon next to your name, so you don’t show up as muted to others on the call. Even more annoying: Google Meet complains about your mic being muted and obscures the call with a giant popup. And if you dismiss that popup, Meet will mute you and keep you muted even after you unmute with Mic Drop. It’s all very confusing and annoying! -- What the Mic Drop for Chrome extension does -- * Mute in Mic Drop and Meet are kept in-sync. * When you mute or unmute in Mic Drop—with your keyboard shortcut, the menu bar, Mic Check, your Stream Deck, or a custom automation—we sync your mute state to Meet. Everyone on the call sees your real status. And if you mute yourself in Google Meet, (or someone else does)—it gets reflected in Mic Drop. * Nothing new to learn. * Keep muting the way you already do. Use Mic Drop however you like. The extension just quietly passes the message along. * Private, like the rest of Mic Drop. * The extension only shares your mute status between Mic Drop and Meet. It never listens to, records, or sends your audio anywhere. We aren’t interested in snooping on you.
