瞄一下 — Chinese hover dictionary with OCR support Point at a Chinese word and hold Shift. A small pop-up gives you the pinyin, with tones coloured, and the English definitions. Release the key and it stays put so you can read it; press Esc to dismiss. Reading manhua or seeing Chinese on an image? Click on the top right extension icon to snip at the text and extract the text from the image! The dictionary is bundled, not looked up online: 124,766 CC-CEDICT entries, both simplified and traditional. Nothing you read leaves your machine, and it works with no connection. Each entry also has a speaker button — one per reading, so 打 dá and 打 dǎ are pronounced separately. OCR captures have an option to send the text to Google Translate for a direct translation, off by default. Adjustable to taste Trigger — hold Shift, Ctrl, Alt or Cmd/Win, or turn the key off entirely and let it open on hover alone, with an adjustable delay. Audio — your computer's Chinese voice, real human recordings from Wikimedia Commons, or both. Playback can be slowed for listening practice. Script — lead with simplified or traditional. Appearance — light, dark or follow the system; font size; how many definitions to show before collapsing the rest. On/off — one click on the toolbar cat. Awake means it's running; asleep means it isn't. Anki Turn on Anki export and every entry gains a + button that files the word as a note, without leaving the page. It fits the collection you already have rather than dictating one. Your deck, note type and every field name are read from Anki directly, and you choose what goes in each field — the word, tone-coloured hanzi, pinyin in either form, the definitions, the sentence you found it in, pronunciation audio, or the page you were reading. If the deck or note type you name doesn't exist yet, it's created for you. Words already in your collection show a tick instead of a +, so you won't add the same one twice. Needs Anki running with the AnkiConnect add-on. Nothing to configure on the Anki side, and local access is only requested if you switch the feature on.
