the theme i choose disappears after a short period of time and is replaced by the daily picture from bing or something, why???

background not showing up

Everytime I open chrome, my selected theme isn't there and when I open a new tab, it appears for 1 second then disappears immediately. Could you help me please?

How do you reset the default

I chose a picture theme for Google and thought it would stay but the moment I go to shut down my computer and close Google it disappears and each time I open Google I have to go to settings and appearance and reset the theme I chose. Why? One person said reset the default. Where do I do that for themes? Help!!
