What is this extension? MewShot is an all-in-one screenshot and screen-recording tool for the browser. You can capture a selected region, a full (scrolling) page, or the whole screen; record the screen to video or GIF; annotate and edit the image; extract text from images with offline OCR; and save or share the result as PNG, JPG, WEBP, or PDF. What is it useful for? It is useful for creating tutorials and visual guides, filing bug reports, saving receipts and invoices, keeping part of a web page, making social-media content, and pulling text out of an image or screenshot (OCR). It also offers annotation (arrows, boxes, highlight, text), blurring of sensitive information, numbered step badges, and watermarks. Why use it? Because it does all of this in a single extension with no separate software, it is privacy-first (your captures stay on your device unless you choose to upload), its OCR works fully offline, it can export multi-page PDFs, it supports dragging an image straight out to another app, and it is available in five languages (English, Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) with light and dark themes.
