Overview

Cut through health misinformation. Metis fact-checks pages and answers science questions using real peer-reviewed research.

Metis — AI-Powered Science Fact-Checker The internet is full of health claims that sound convincing but aren't backed by science. Metis cuts through the noise by connecting you directly to peer-reviewed research — in seconds, right from your browser. WHAT METIS DOES Metis gives you two powerful tools for evaluating health and science information: Fact-Check Any Page Found a blog post claiming a supplement cures disease? A news article making bold health claims? Click the Metis extension icon, hit Analyze, and Metis will read the page, identify its central scientific claim, search PubMed for relevant studies, and tell you whether the evidence supports, contradicts, or is neutral on the claim — with direct links to the source articles. Ask a Science Question Have a specific question about health, medicine, nutrition, or biology? Ask Metis directly. It searches PubMed and synthesizes findings from real peer-reviewed studies to give you a grounded, evidence-based answer — not an opinion. WHY METIS? Most fact-checkers rely on human editors or opaque AI models with no citations. Metis is different. Transparent sources: Every answer links to the actual PubMed studies behind it. You can read the research yourself. Science-first: Metis searches biomedical literature, not social media or news articles. The evidence comes from researchers, not influencers. No agenda: Metis doesn't have editorial positions. It surfaces what the published science says and lets you decide. Fast: Results in seconds, without leaving the page you're reading. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone who reads health content online and wants to know if it's actually supported by research. Patients researching conditions, treatments, or medications. Students and educators evaluating scientific claims. Journalists and writers who want to verify health information quickly. Anyone tired of misinformation dressed up as medical advice. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install Metis and create an account at askmetis.co 2. Browse to any page with a health or science claim 3. Click the Metis icon in your toolbar 4. Hit Analyze to fact-check the page, or switch to Ask to ask your own question 5. Get results backed by real peer-reviewed research, with source links ABOUT THE DATA Metis searches PubMed, maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine — the gold standard for biomedical literature with over 35 million citations. IMPORTANT Metis surfaces published scientific research to help you evaluate claims. It does not provide medical advice. Results reflect the published literature at the time of the search. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. Metis requires a paid account. Search credits are used per analysis.
