A full-screen warning overlay with a one-click close-page button is shown whenever a suspicious site is found. ✅ LEGITIMATE SITE VERIFICATION A small, non-intrusive "Verified Official" badge is injected in the corner of recognized Web3 platforms. The verified list currently covers 70+ of the most popular DeFi, NFT, wallet, exchange, blockchain explorer, analytics and developer tool domains, so you can confirm visually you are on the authentic site before connecting a wallet or signing anything. 🤝 FULLY USER-CONTROLLABLE If MetaShield Pro ever warns on a site you personally trust, click the "Whitelist this site" button inside the warning overlay and that domain will never be flagged again. All whitelist entries are stored only on your local device. Layer 2 — Typosquat Levenshtein distance similarity algorithm. Layer 3 — Cross-check for wrong top-level domain spoofs. Layer 4 — Homograph and mixed-script Unicode character analysis. Layer 5 — Suspicious scam keyword scanning. All URL comparison, detection logic and preferences are processed 100% locally in your browser profile. Settings are kept exclusively in Chrome's isolated chrome.storage.local sandbox, and everything is irreversibly wiped the moment you uninstall the extension. Host permission is requested because phishing scams can appear on any newly-registered domain on any TLD; attacks are not restricted to a fixed whitelist of sites and cannot be pre-registered.
