Messages Shortcut Actions
Overview
Use shortcuts to archive, trash, or mark Google Messages conversations read or unread, with optional shortcuts for navigation.
Messages Shortcut Actions helps you clear your Google Messages inbox faster. Use keyboard shortcuts to archive or move the active conversation to trash without searching through menus: • Archive the selected or hovered conversation Ctrl+Shift+Y on Windows and Linux Command+Shift+Y on macOS • Move the selected or hovered conversation to trash Ctrl+Shift+D on Windows and Linux Command+Shift+D on macOS The extension shows shortcut labels when you hover over or focus a conversation, so the available actions are always easy to find. It also opens the active conversation immediately, making keyboard-based message triage quicker. You can review or customize the shortcuts in Chrome’s extension shortcut settings. The extension popup also lets you choose whether to automatically confirm Google Messages’ native “Move to trash” dialog. Privacy: Messages Shortcut Actions runs locally in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit message content, contact information, account identifiers, or usage analytics. It only accesses Google Messages Web to perform the archive and trash actions you request.
