Command & control over Chrome using your voice

The use of MerlynMind is governed by the license agreement and privacy policy within the extension. For more details on our privacy policy please see the link here in the Chrome store or the links provided when you sign in using the credentials you previously shared with us. MerlynMind gives you command & control over your browser using your voice. For example, you can open files from your Google Drive, your bookmarks, or your history on command. For example, you can say: • Open my bookmark on the lesson about… • Open my file on the lesson about… • Switch to the … tab A link to more extensive information on commands that MerlynMind understands is provided once you sign into MerlynMind. In order to sign in, MerlynMind authenticates with Google requesting permission to access your identity, including your email address. We use your email address to identify your account and to manage the services we provide and the costs we incur in providing MerlynMind. We provided such services in accordance with the agreement that governs the level of service we provide you, such as the end-user license agreement incorporated within the extension itself, as mentioned above. In order to open files from your Google Drive using your voice, MerlynMind authenticates with Google requesting permission for read-only access to the names of your Google Drive files. MerlynMind does not request permission to look into or change your files. In accordance with our privacy policy, personally identifiable information (including what you say to MerlynMind and the addresses, titles, or content of any web pages or files that you access before, while, or after using MerlynMind) is never used for marketing, advertising, or sales purposes nor shared with 3rd parties. In order to function, MerlynMind requires certain additional permissions. • tabs and active tab permissions: so you can follow links and play media on the active tab and switch between or close tabs using your voice • alarms permission: to set and clear them when you give such commands • bookmarks permission: to allow you to open them at your command • history permission: to open recently closed or viewed pages at your command • text-to-speech permission: so MerlynMind can speak in response your commands or questions • notifications permission: to provide feedback using text instead of speech or sounds according to how you set certain options • web request and blocking permissions: to limit visited pages to white-listed domains or to preclude visiting pages in black-listed domains in accordance with how you set such options • storage permission: so that how you set your options persists from session to session For your convenience and to avoid frustration, permissions are requested for all web pages.
