Meridian — Twitch Chat for YouTube™ & Kick
Overview
Bring Twitch chat to YouTube™ & Kick. Transparent overlay, docked mode, 3rd-party emotes, chat delay, highlights.
Meridian is the ultimate companion for cross-platform stream watchers. Whether your favorite creator streams on Twitch but VODs on YouTube, or you follow esports on Kick, Meridian keeps Twitch chat right where you need it — synced, styled, and always within reach. Display Modes: • Overlay Mode: Float a transparent, draggable, resizable chat panel directly over the video. Works in fullscreen and theater mode. • Docked Mode: Slot Meridian into YouTube’s native chat panel with a [YouTube | Twitch] tab bar — no overlap, no layout shift, switch chats instantly. • Per-Layout Preferences: Choose Overlay or Docked separately for Default, Theater, and Fullscreen layouts, so Meridian behaves exactly how you want in each viewing mode. • Docked Chat Visibility: Control whether YouTube’s native chat is shown or hidden by default per layout. Channel Mapping: • Automatically detects the YouTube or Kick channel you’re watching and connects to the right Twitch channel. • Comes pre-seeded with popular esports and streaming channel mappings out of the box. • Add, edit, or remove mappings for any channel from the popup — takes seconds. Third-Party Emotes: • Loads 7TV, BetterTTV (BTTV), and FrankerFaceZ (FFZ) emotes automatically — both global and per-channel sets. • Emote autocomplete in the chat input with inline image previews as you type. • @mention autocomplete with prefix matching against everyone seen in chat. Stream Sync: • Chat Delay: Offset incoming messages by 0–600 seconds to match your personal stream delay — so chat reacts exactly when you see it happen. • Render Batching: Buffer and flush messages in controlled intervals so fast-moving chats stay smooth and readable. Emote Highlights & Chat Intensity: • Detects emote surges in real time — when a crowd reacts, Meridian marks the exact moment on the YouTube seekbar. • Replay highlights on VODs so you can jump straight to the best reactions after the stream ends. • Per-channel surge thresholds and rolling windows, fully configurable. • Chat Intensity shows a color-coded activity wave on the seekbar so you can see where chat was most active. • Hover the timeline to preview message rate at any moment. Chat Features: • Send messages as yourself with full Twitch emote support through optional OAuth. • Hold-to-pause autoscroll — hold a key to freeze the chat at any message, release to snap back to live. • Hotkeys for toggling visibility and focusing the chat input without touching the mouse. • Blocklist and hide-deleted-messages support. • Chat history limit, font size, opacity, blur, and text style controls. Privacy & Account: • Works fully anonymously by default — no login needed to read chat. • Connect your Twitch account optionally via Twitch's official OAuth to send messages. No passwords stored. • All settings and mappings are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to third-party servers. • Live Twitch viewer count pill (shown when signed in). Meridian is free, open source, and built for stream watchers who want Twitch chat anywhere. Meridian is an independent third-party extension and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
