Merge Chrome Windows
Overview
Merge other eligible windows into this window, keeping live tabs, pins, and groups.
Bring your Chrome windows together with one click. Click Merge Chrome Windows in the window you want to keep. It moves the existing tabs from your other normal windows into that window, including minimized windows, without reloading or recreating the pages. • Keeps pinned tabs pinned and preserves tab order within pinned and unpinned sections. • Moves tab groups with their names, colors, and collapse state. • Keeps your original active tab selected. • Keeps regular and Incognito windows separate. Incognito use requires enabling “Allow in Incognito” in Chrome. • Runs locally, with no account, analytics, external requests, or persistent extension storage. Pin the extension from Chrome's Extensions menu for easy access. A click starts merging immediately; there is no confirmation or preview. Successful merges show a brief checkmark. Only errors open a details popup. Requires Chrome 155 or newer. Source split views that separate during a move are rebuilt with the same tabs, side-by-side at 50/50; their original layout and ratio cannot be restored. Existing destination split views are not rebuilt. Popups, app windows, and other profiles are not merged. Avoid rearranging tabs while a merge runs. If Chrome rejects a move, the extension stops and reports partial completion. Already moved tabs stay in place; there is no rollback. Chrome may close source windows automatically when their last tab moves out.
