YOUR BROWSER BECOMES THE PLACE WHERE AI CAN FINISH THE WORK Melaya reads the current page, acts through a finite set of browser controls, checks what changed, and continues from the page that actually exists now. Progress, tool activity, results, and approval requests stay visible in the extension side panel. It is useful for sales, customer success, operations, support, finance administration, marketing, research, quality checks, and the repetitive browser work between an answer and a completed task. CHOOSE THE AI THAT FITS THE TASK Your browser automation should not lock your workflow to one model company, one subscription, or one usage allowance. - Cloud mode: choose from the cloud models connected to your Melaya account. No local runner is required. - Local mode: use a Melaya Runner on your machine and select a model it advertises, including supported Ollama, LM Studio, Claude Code, or Codex routes. - Switch by task: use a fast hosted model for convenience, a different provider for a specialized job, or local inference when that better fits your privacy, cost, or infrastructure needs. Local inference does not mean the extension becomes an offline product: Melaya still operates the authenticated control plane for pairing, grants, browser commands, approvals, status, results, and security or reliability telemetry. If a task genuinely needs several open pages, you can separately enable All tabs. That allows Melaya to list, open, switch, and close HTTP or HTTPS tabs for the task. Return to This tab at any time to restore the narrower boundary. The agent cannot silently grant itself broader tab access. Scope is a user control in the branded panel. BRING THE RIGHT BUSINESS CONTEXT Browser work rarely lives on a webpage alone. Add only the Melaya connectors and instructions the task needs, so the agent can work with selected business context without forcing every workflow into one provider's ecosystem. Use your browser session where you are already signed in, combine it with the sources you choose, and keep the final decision with the person who owns the consequence. CONTROL IS PART OF THE PRODUCT - Safe is the default approval mode. - Review approval requests inside the Melaya panel. - Change the model, connector set, context, tab scope, or approval mode. - Stop an active run at any time. - Disconnect the extension and withdraw extension consent. - Password-field values are omitted from page snapshots. Other approval modes can reduce prompts. They do not make automation risk-free. Review financial, personal, publishing, account, and work-critical actions carefully, and independently verify the final state on the website. BOUNDED BROWSER ACTIONS, NOT REMOTE CODE Melaya is a Manifest V3 extension. Its executable logic is bundled in the package. A model can choose only from the extension's finite, versioned browser action set; the extension does not download or execute remote scripts, expose a shell, run arbitrary JavaScript, or upload files through this browser transport. The browser may display its standard debugging banner while Melaya is controlling an authorized tab. This is expected: Melaya uses the browser's debugging protocol to perform the disclosed browser actions. Canceling that browser connection stops the attachment. The extension requests HTTP and HTTPS site access because operating user-chosen websites is its single purpose. Logical scope, signed grants, origin checks, approvals, stop controls, and the selected tab boundary still govern each run. GET STARTED 1. Install Melaya from your browser's extension store. 2. Open the side panel and connect your Melaya account. 3. Read and accept the browser-data disclosure. 4. Choose This tab or All tabs, Cloud or Local, a model, connectors, context, and an approval mode. 5. Describe the result you want in plain language. 6. Watch the work, review important actions, and stop or take over whenever needed. Cloud mode is the fastest start and needs no terminal or local setup. Local mode requires the Melaya Runner and a supported local model application or CLI route. USE MELAYA RESPONSIBLY Only use Melaya on websites, accounts, and data you are authorized to access. Follow each site's terms, automation rules, privacy requirements, rate limits, and applicable laws. Browser AI can encounter misleading or hostile page content, including prompt injection. Start with trusted sites, grant the narrowest useful scope, do not ask the model to enter passwords, one-time codes, or payment-card numbers, and confirm consequential actions yourself.
