Overview

Import, edit, execute, and share API requests from a local-first request client.

Pulse Request Runner is a local-first API client built for developers who debug from Chrome DevTools. Copy any request from the Chrome Network tab as cURL, paste it into Pulse, and instantly turn it into an editable request. Update the URL, method, headers, auth, query params, body, variables, and execution settings, then rerun it locally from your browser. Pulse helps you move from “what happened in the browser?” to “let me test this exact request again” without moving sensitive request data into a hosted workspace. Features: 1. Import Chrome DevTools “Copy as cURL” 2. Edit method, URL, params, headers, auth, and body 3. Support for JSON, GraphQL, form URL encoded, multipart fields, gRPC-Web inspection, WebSocket, and SSE 4. Local collections and environments 5. Variables with {{name}} syntax 6. Response body, headers, timing, JSON paths, and diff views 7. Generate and run saved validation tests 8. Export collections, shell scripts, and CI-ready config 9. Right-click menu for copied cURL and auth/cookie helpers 10. Local-first storage with no Pulse cloud account Pulse is designed for API debugging, browser request replay, and fast local validation. Your collections and request data stay in your browser unless you explicitly export them. 0.2.0 — DevTools-native * Live network capture. In the DevTools "Pulse" panel, toggle Capture network to add XHR/fetch requests (or everything) to Scratch as they finish — with their real response attached — no Copy-as-cURL round trip. * HAR import. Workspace actions → Import HAR (or Import file (auto)) turns a HAR export from Chrome, Charles, Proxyman, etc. into Scratch requests. Collection runner. New Runner tab: run the active collection in order with the current environment and saved tests, optional delay and stop-on-failure, per-request pass/fail, and an exportable JSON report. Tests can return { variables: { token: "…" } } to feed later requests. * Code snippets. The cURL tab is now Code: JavaScript fetch, axios, Python requests, Go net/http, and raw HTTP/1.1, with optional variable substitution (secret tokens stay masked). Keyboard shortcuts. ⌘/Ctrl+Enter runs the request, ⌘/Ctrl+S saves, ⌘/Ctrl+K jumps to search. * Pre-request scripts. Sandboxed async script per request (request.* mutable, pulse.set(), pulse.header()), run before variable resolution. * OAuth 2.0 token acquisition. Client credentials, password, and authorization code + PKCE (via chrome.identity, new identity permission). Expired tokens refresh silently before a run; optional copy of the token into an env variable. Config fields accept {{variables}}. * Collection-level auth. Auth tab has "This request" / "Collection default" scopes; new requests default to Inherit from collection. OAuth tokens on the collection refresh for every inheriting request. Postman imports map collection auth and mark requests without their own auth as inherit. * Any model, your keys. AI tab → Model: Chrome on-device (default) or bring-your-own-key Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, xAI (Grok), or any OpenAI-compatible server (Ollama, LM Studio). Same tool loop for every model; keys stay in extension storage. * Agent surface. window.pulse.listTools() / callTool() in the panel, and the same 13 tools registered via WebMCP (document/navigator.modelContext) where Chrome supports it. * Runner semantics. Saved tests are authoritative (an expected 404 passes); a collection OAuth config with no token yet mints one on first run; run-time variables from tests, pre-request scripts and token mirrors share one writer (no more overwrites). * Demo kit. demo/server.mjs (OAuth2 + CRUD + SSE local API), demo/pulse-demo-collection.json (10 chained requests, all green), demo/sample.har, and demo/DEMO.md (8-minute script). * Real AWS SigV4. The previous placeholder signature is replaced with a WebCrypto implementation that matches the AWS documentation test vector; adds session token, region and service fields (auto-detected from the host when blank).
