MeetWave records the call's audio straight from your own browser tab — no separate participant, nothing visible to anyone else on the call — and turns it into a transcript, summary and action items you can open the moment the call ends. If you've ever gone looking for your Zoom, Google Meet or Teams transcript after a call and found nothing, this is what MeetWave replaces: it captures the audio itself, so you're not depending on whether the platform saved a transcript for you. HOW IT WORKS - Detects an active call on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom's web app and offers to record it. Nothing is recorded until you click Record. - Records the meeting's audio — your microphone and the call's sound, mixed into a single file — entirely in your browser. No video, ever. - Can notify the other participants that the call is being recorded: an on-screen banner, and a chat message if you turn that on. - Uploads the finished recording to your MeetWave account and, by default, starts generating a summary right away. - The summary — key points, decisions and action items — opens in your MeetWave dashboard minutes after the call. No manual export. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - It never joins a call as a bot or a visible participant. - It never records video. - It never reads chat content, participant names, or anything on the page beyond what it needs to tell that a call is active. - It only runs on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom's web app — nowhere else. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS MeetWave asks for exactly the permissions its recording pipeline needs: - Tab audio capture, to record the call you start recording. - A brief offscreen page (a Chrome requirement) to run that recording pipeline outside the visible window. - Local storage, to hold your settings, session and the recording buffer safely until it uploads. - Google sign-in, only if you choose to sign in that way. - Background alarms, to retry an interrupted upload and to notice if your machine has gone idle or locked, so a recording doesn't keep running against an empty room. - Notifications, to tell you when a recording has uploaded or a summary is ready. - Access to Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom's web app, to detect a call and, if you enable it, post the recording-consent chat message; access to MeetWave's own servers, to upload and process your recording.
