Overview

Use Meetup.com without getting hassled by poor design. It removes the bad things, adds useful improvements and new functions.

Changes to Site Appearance: - Removes unwanted free-trial banners, redundant panels, and credit card forms that clutter the Meetup.com experience - Remove ad popup after an event's "Attend" button is clicked - Sharpens any low-res publicly visible profile photos and replaces them with their full-res counterparts - Hides the site footer until your mouse cursor hovers over its minimized state - Remove "X people interested" - as a user can do nothing with the information since this list is not of attendees New Functionality: - Flagging users, setting your own reason for the flag; this is stored locally on your device - Flagged users will be marked on attendee lists and on their Member pages - Event attendance page shows a notice if flagged Members are attending - Hiding Groups: marking a group as hidden will hide all its events from the event search page - Go to the group's page to change its visibility status Page-Specific Improvements: - Event pages - Clickable area for "Add to Calendar" and "Google Maps" links enlarged for better usability - Member profiles - Clicking on a profile photo now opens the image file in a new tab - Group tiles now link to the correct group pages instead of triggering a subscription popup - Social media icons within the bio now link to the correct URL instead of triggering a subscription popup - Event search - Restores last search filters used when coming afresh from the Homepage - Messages - Member search results now link to profiles instead of triggering the upsell popup ## Changelog v1.2 - Fix: photo viewer modals are now whitelisted and can be opened from a group's Photo page - Fix: prevent the "Share a flyer" and "Organizer tools" buttons from being hidden on an Event page - Hide all events from hidden groups on the new "Groups you're a part of" feed (changed from carousel) - Card links from the Events search page now open in a new tab by default so you don't lose your place while finding events v1.1 - NEW FEATURE: Ability to flag users, setting your own reason for the flag; this is stored locally - Flagged users will be marked on attendee lists and on their Member pages - Event attendance page shows a notice if flagged Members are attending - NEW FEATURE: Group hiding: marking a group as hidden will hide all its events from the event search page. Go to the group page to change visibility status - Remove "X people interested" - as a user can do nothing with the information since this list is not of attendees v1.0.3 - Whitelist these popups: - How was the event - ex: After giving a star rating on the event page after event has passed - Thanks for sharing - ex: After clicking "I didn't attend the event" - What's the reason you're reporting this - ex: After clicking "Report this event" - Member profile page group tiles now link to the correct group pages instead of triggering the upsell popup - Event search page restores the last used search filter - Social media icons within Member bios now link to the correct URL instead of triggering a subscription popup - Improvements to Messages for free users - Member search results now link to profiles instead of triggering the upsell popup v1.0.2 - Add modal whitelist for these popups: - Share Event - ex: Share out links and actions from event pages - Update your RSVP - ex: Changing your RSVP from Attending to Not attending - Complete your registration - ex: Entering dietary needs for attendees - How was the event - ex: After giving a star rating on the event page after event has passed - Remove ad popup after "Attend" button is clicked v1.0.1 - Bug fix: prevents login modal from being hidden when logged out
