Live transcription for Google Meet and Microsoft Teams (Soniox). Recordings and transcripts are saved locally.

MeetScribe adds live captions and local audio recording to Google Meet and Microsoft Teams web meetings. Features • Separate transcripts for your microphone (Me) and the meeting tab (Others), with speaker labels for other participants. • Audio is saved locally. Recording continues if transcription disconnects, and transcription gaps are marked for later completion. • Replay and search meeting transcripts, fill missing sections, or re-transcribe an entire recording afterward. • Export Markdown transcripts and audio recordings. • Automatically stop after leaving a call, with a countdown you can cancel. Interface languages Use the extension in English, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese. It follows your browser language where supported, or you can choose a display language in Settings. Interface language and meeting transcription language are separate settings; meeting language hints can be changed before or during a meeting. Requirements Chrome 116 or later. Works with Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in browser tabs, not desktop meeting apps. Grant microphone permission in Settings before first use. Headphones are recommended. Transcription uses Soniox and requires your own Soniox API key with available credit. Soniox charges apply separately. Without a key, you can still record locally. Privacy and data Settings, API keys, recordings, transcripts, meeting metadata, and logs are stored locally in the extension. When you enable transcription, audio is sent directly to Soniox. For post-meeting transcription, the recording is uploaded to Soniox; after successfully retrieving the result, the extension requests deletion of the remote file and transcription. Interrupted tasks or failed deletion requests may leave data on Soniox. MeetScribe has no developer-operated backend or analytics tracking. Uninstalling clears extension-local data; export anything you need to keep. Inform participants and obtain any required consent before recording or transcribing.
