Meeting Mic Monitor
Overview
Streams your Meet/Zoom Web mute state to the local Meeting Mic Monitor desktop app.
Meeting Mic Monitor draws a colored border around every connected display so you always know if your microphone is on in Google Meet or Zoom. π’ Green border β you are muted (safe) π΄ Red border β you are unmuted (transmitting) β« No border β no meeting detected This extension reads the mute button's state on meet.google.com and on Zoom's Web Client (zoom.us / app.zoom.us), then forwards that state to the companion "Meeting Mic Monitor" desktop app on your Mac via Chrome Native Messaging. The desktop app draws the border. The desktop app is a separate one-time install. Everything stays on your machine β no network connection, no analytics, no remote server. The extension and the desktop app talk through a local Unix socket only. Designed for people who use a second monitor for meetings, miss the in-app mute icon, or have ever said "sorry, I was on mute." Active only on: β’ https://meet.google.com/* β’ https://zoom.us/wc/* and https://app.zoom.us/wc/* It does nothing on any other site. No data leaves your computer. No telemetry. No third parties. Requires the companion Meeting Mic Monitor desktop app (macOS only, free). Questions: michael.virnoche@arcovo.ai
