Meeting Countdown Timer
Overview
A minimal floating countdown for Google Meet and Zoom. Detects the end time, warns before it, then counts overtime.
Meeting Countdown Timer puts a small, calm clock in the corner of your Google Meet or Zoom Web meeting so you always know how much time is left — without staring at the system clock and doing subtraction. WHAT IT DOES • Finds the end time by itself. Meet and Zoom already display the scheduled time range on the page; the extension reads it and starts counting. It tells you what it found, so you are never guessing. • Manual timer whenever you need one. Presets for 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes, "to the next :30" or ":00", or type any number of minutes. • Warnings you control. By default the clock brightens at 10 minutes, turns amber at 5, orange at 2 and red for the final minute — then pulses gently over the last ten seconds. Add, remove or recolour those thresholds however you like. Overtime. At 00:00 the clock turns bold red. A minute later a +MM:SS counter appears underneath and keeps counting until you leave the meeting, so "we're a bit over" becomes a number everyone can see. • Designed to be ignorable. Just large grey digits by default — no box, no chrome. Drag it to any corner, resize it, make it fainter or bolder, add a backdrop if you want one, or hide it for a single meeting. PRIVACY FIRST No account. No servers. No analytics. No tracking. No recording. The extension contains no networking code at all — there is nowhere for your data to go. It asks for exactly one permission, "storage", to keep your settings and the current meeting's timer on your own device. It reads the meeting page only to look for a scheduled time such as "10:00 – 10:30 AM"; chat, captions and transcripts are excluded from that scan, and nothing it reads is ever stored or sent. COMPLETELY FREE Every feature, every setting: detection, the manual timer, your own warning thresholds and colours, opacity and backdrop, the chime, and the overtime counter. No accounts, no trial, no paid tier, no nagging inside your meetings, and nothing held back. WHERE IT WORKS Google Meet (meet.google.com) and the Zoom web client (app.zoom.us/wc/…). The Zoom desktop app is a native application and cannot be extended by a browser extension.
